Miami Schools develops and prepares for school year 2006-2007

Miami Schools will open four new schools

This year schools School Miami is the opening of four new schools and several new facilities to meet increased student enrollment for school year 2006-2007. The new schools meet elementary students in middle schools and high schools.

Schools in Miami, said Ronald W. Reagan High School in the northwest part of the district. This is an area that is growing rapidly. The new school about 20 acres and the house very modern facilities. The Ronald W. Reagan High School will have 250,000 square meters of classrooms, computer lab, a 800 seat auditorium, a 700-seat cafeteria, a media center and gymnasium. Also on campus, there will be a series of spaces open, football, soccer, softball and baseball and basketball, tennis and racquetball.

The most innovative part of Miami School of Ronald W. Reagan High School is that it is an academy-based design. This means that the ninth grade will be tested and examined to discover their interests and strengths and be encouraged to choose between three academies. The three academies will be on the campus of Cambridge Academy, Information and Communications Technology Academy, and the Classical Academy of the Arts. These schools both have separate facilities and share common school facilities. This is part of Miami's schools still plan to reform the education.

In the southern part of the District, Miami schools open new Norma Butler Bossard Elementary School. The campus will cover 7.5 hectares. The school will with a Media Center, music and art centers, a cafeteria for most students, a three-story building in the classrooms, bilingual, a well-equipped science laboratory and a wellness center. The Wellness Center will be available for staff and students. This school is named Norma Butler Bossard, who schools had been the language of Miami Arts Division Chief for many years.

Another innovation for schools in Miami is the newly constructed David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center. The K-8 Center will be a world class facility which is adjacent to Florida International University. Miami schools working in conjunction with the University Florida International to provide professional development for teachers in schools in Miami and Florida International education students of the University. The K-8 Center may accommodate about 1,600 students. The state of the art facility will include a media center, computer labs, art labs, and centers music. The K-8 Center will host Johnson & Wales University nutrition and cooking workshops. These workshops are part of "healthy eating / options healthy, "a grant the school received from the Health Foundation of South Florida. Talleres kitchen is open to staff and parents.

The newest addition to Miami schools Young Women's Preparatory Academy. This is the first school of all women are not exploited by schools Miami. The Young Women's Preparatory Academy will host 450 girls in grades 6-12. The Young Women's Preparatory Academy has a comprehensive education program that develop the academic, personal and social skills of students. The school aims to prepare students for higher education and the world.
